A couple of lazy days...

Saturday and Sunday I haven't done a huge amount. Yesterday I went for a walk in Times Square, which I hated, then went to eat in a nice little Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. That's about it... Today I went to the Greyhound terminal to check things about my ticket and times for buses. I'm taking a bus to Washington DC tomorrow morning. I don' t expect to be staying there more than a day, but with the hurricane in the Caribbean expected to be taking a path roughly where I plan to be travelling, I may have to stay a while longer or take a detour until I have more idea of what is going on.

I also went up the Empire State Building today, it was pretty cool, the hour wait was a bit of a bitch, but it was worth it and I was reading a book in the queue anyway, so it wasn't too bad (the book was High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, it really is excellent, I read it in about 24 hours it was so good). Then I went for something to eat and came back to sleep for a while before doing my laundry. I'm not sure what I'll be doing this evening, I doubt anything much.

And, well, that's about it for New York. I like the place, but I think I would appreciate it much more if I lived here for a year or so. It doesn't stand up to London for me because of that, and it's probably not very fair on New York. I didn't really get the chance to explore out of Manhattan (read: I was too lazy to go out of Manhattan), except when I walked across the Bridges, by the way, I found an internet cafe that will allow me to upload photos, so tomorrow I'll be doing that before I get on the coach.

I think I'll leave it there, as I said, tomorrow I'll be (finally) adding the pictures so there'll be a bit more then.
